School Health Week

The School Health Programme, which is the single largest health programme operating in Gujarat, covers nearly 15 million children every year. With children being at the heart of development, it was felt that school health services should be developed as an integral part of the health care delivery system. The scheme includes all possible steps to make children healthy, ranging from health check-ups to providing speciality treatments.

A ‘School Health Week’ is observed where children are examined for any ailments and services like counselling, health education, sanitation and nutrition-related activities are provided. The beneficiaries of this programme include newborn babies to children and individuals up to the age of 18 years, parents and guardians, and the community.
Today School Health Program (Shala Arogya Saptah) was conducted at the school. The students from 1st standard to 8th standard was examined by the Medical Doctors for any medical condition. The doctors also gave advice on how to be healthy and active by following simple and helpful instructions regarding diet and exercise as well.
