SCOPE is conducting CEPT (Cambridge English Placement Test) and Linguaskill business online examinations and results according to international standards at such a mass scale, which is unique in the world. SCOPE conducts exam in almost every districts of the state. Major highlights of the programme are:

2. International Certification by Cambridge English, part of the University of Cambridge, UK

3. Enhancing employability and showcasing the proficiency of English.

4. Training programme and tests are being developed on the Common European Framework of Reference (Level A1 to C2, six levels).

Vision

SCOPE envisions achieving excellence through convenience, affordability, equity, inclusivity and accessibility to gauge the English language skills among the youth of Gujarat and thereby empower them to hone and accentuate their skills so as to open up a new horizon of opportunities for them.

Mission

1. SCOPE provides clear learning outcomes, detailed instruction, and assessment for all examinations. SCOPE is strived to maintain utmost security and integrity in the examination process. SCOPE is to reach the maximum number of youth across Gujarat to create awareness to learn the English Language.

2. SCOPE offers English Examinations in association with Cambridge English assessment, part of Cambridge university that assists the youth of Gujarat in clarifying and achieving their educational and career goals.

3. To imbibe reading, listening and speaking skills of the English language among the youth of Gujarat for achieving opportunity through proficiency in the English Language. SCOPE empowers its trainer to provide a learning environment that is innovative, engaging, compassionate and supportive. SCOPE is providing equal access to opportunities and resources among the youth of Gujarat who wishes to learn English.

SCOPE Program for Gaining Proficiency in the English Language

SCOPE (Society for Creation of Opportunity through Proficiency in English), established in 2007, by the Government of Gujarat to build English language proficiency in the youth of Gujarat and thereby create employment opportunities for them has been the most successful programme for the purpose of providing English language training to candidates SCOPE programme is centred on three challenges of education - Access, Equity and Quality. The programme runs into PPP (Public-Private Partnership). The team is led by A.J. Pankaj Joshi, IAS, Principal Secretary (Higher & Technical Education) and Sh. A.J. Shah, IAS, Commissioner, Higher Education, Govt. of Gujarat.

SCOPE is a very novel programme for gaining the required proficiency in the English language. On regular basis, SCOPE’s English lectures are also telecast to more than 600 colleges under the Sandhanprogramme of KCG from BISAG studio, Gandhinagar.

Major highlights of the programme are:

* PPP centres are controlled through Five Zonal Training Partners (ZTPs).

* Presence in all districts of Gujarat.

* International Certification by Cambridge English, part of the University of Cambridge, UK.

* Enhancing employability and showcasing proficiency in English.

* BULATS equivalency to IELTS and other international tests.

* Training of 90 hours at each level - face to face classroom training as well as practice on; computers using language learning software.

* Training programme is being developed on the Common European Framework (Level A1 to C2, six levels) of Reference.

* Quality Assurance Cell (QAC) to grade SCOPE centres in A, B & C categories.

* Online MIS (Management Information System) for various processes.

SCOPE not only provides learning opportunities but also placement opportunities for its pass out candidates. SCOPE provides trainer, audio-visual material, books, sample question papers, learning resources, and online examination for the candidates.

International Assessment and Certification:

Structure of programme and fee The English Language Training programme is being developed on the Common European Framework of Reference which is mapped with ALTE levels.

Six level of courses:

Basic: Al, A2 Advanced: B1, B2 Proficient: C1, C2

The English language Programme is being developed on the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) which is as follows: COUNCIL OF EUROPE LEVELS C2 (ALTE 5) Cl (ALTE 4) B2 (ALTE 3) BI (ALTE 2) A2 (ALTE 1) Al (ALTE BREAKTHROUGH) Level I to V of the SCOPE's programme will map to the levels Al to C1 of the Common European Framework.

Each level covers the following learning areas: listening, reading, speaking and grammar. Within each learning area there is a range of online tools designed to provide students with the pedagogical support needed to effectively and independently work in that learning area; for example, the audio version of written texts, the translation option, the dictionary, and the visual aids.
