Std-10 Maths Two Types Question Paper For Gujarat Education Board
The matter of giving the option of two types of question papers in Mathematics subject in Std-10 in the schools recognized by Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board.
In schools recognized by the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board, students have to study a total of 7 subjects in Std-10. In which three languages and subjects like Mathematics, Science and Social Science are compulsory.
The seventh has optional subjects as the subject. Even students who do not want to go into the science stream after Std-10 cannot pursue further studies due to failing in Mathematics subject in Std-10. Such students should have the opportunity to study further.
The National Education Policy 2020 provides for two options in the assessment of students in subjects like Mathematics. To give the option of two types of question papers in mathematics subject in the public examination of Std-10 conducted by Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board to the students studying in Std-10 in the schools recognized by the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board. The proposal was made by letter dated 09/10/2019. The matter was under active consideration by the Government.
Resolution:-
At the end of the adult consideration, in the schools recognized by the Gujarat Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, from the academic year 2021-22, in the public examination of Std-10.
- The textbook of standard 10 mathematics subjects will be the same. There will be no change in the educational system in this regard at the school level or classroom level.
- In the public examination of Std-10 conducted by the Gujarat Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, two different types of question papers will be given, Mathematics Standard and Mathematics Basic. The student has to choose that option while filling up the board exam form.
- This type of option should be given only while filling up the standard-10 board examination form. Which option will be final? This type of option will not be given in the Mathematics subject in Std-9.
- Mathematics Standard and Mathematics Basic question paper format will be different. In both types of models, chapter-wise merit, merit according to the type of questions as well as merit according to the objectives will be kept separately.
- A student who maintains mathematics standards in Std-10 will be able to get admission in the Science stream or general stream in Std-11.
- A student who has Maths Basic in Std-10 will not be able to get admission in the Science stream in Std-11.
- A student who will pass in Mathematics Basic in Std-10, if he wants to go into the Std-11 Science stream, will be able to get admission in the Std-11 Science stream bypassing the Mathematics Standard examination during the supplementary examination in July.
- A student who fails in Mathematics Standard in Std-10 will be able to appear in the supplementary examination subject to the rules of supplementary examination by giving re-Mathematics Standard or Mathematics Basic option.
- At the school level, the principal, as well as the teachers, will have to give full understanding to the students as well as the parents in this regard and also the written consent of the students as well as the parents will have to be taken regarding the option chosen by the student.
