Topic: Work to be done after baseline survey under Nupun Bharat.
The purpose of this survey is to know children's proficiency in basic language i.e. reading comprehension, intelligible and coherent writing and basic numeracy skills i.e. 1134 skills. Only you can best understand what learning outcomes a child in your class is lacking in reading comprehension, comprehensive and coherent writing, and basic numeracy. Therefore, remedial work for children who are deficient in these basic language and literacy skills will be carried out in your classroom. For which the following guidelines have to be followed.
- All subject/class teachers of Std 1 to 3 have to study the learning outcomes of Std 1 to 3 from Balwatika under Punun Bharat. Which is available on the website of GCERT, Gandhinagar.
- All subject teachers of Std 1 to 4 have to keep track of which learning outcomes each child in their class is lacking in that class. All subject/class teachers have to take note of every child in their class who is raw in those learning outcomes and carry out remedial work.
- Group remedial work should be done for most of the children in the class who have learning disabilities. Some learning outcomes will also involve individual learning work.
- For this type of remedial work, all subject teachers of Std 1 to 4 may also utilize extra time outside of school hours. Thus, teachers must devote time to addressing gaps in the basic language and literacy skills of students in their classes. For students studying in class 4, the baseline survey is based on the academic performance of class 3. A student who is deficient in academic achievement will be required to undertake remedial teaching work based on academic achievement.
- Diet Principal, Diet Lecturer, Taluka Primary Education Officer, Education Inspector, BRCCO and CRCCO shall periodically monitor and report the remedial work.
- Efforts should be made to master the basic literacy and numeracy skills of the students in their class before periodic assessment by the state.
