In Sanskrit nouns, pronouns, adjectives and verbs are formed in several ways, providing complete grammatical meanings. Most word forms are formed by adding a suffix to the end of the root word. Thus, it can be said that Sanskrit is a convex-ended classical language. Vagish Shastri has given a scientific form to Sanskrit grammar.
Sanskrit is written in many scripts of India, but in the modern era it shows a special relationship with the Devanagari script. While the Devanagari script is actually derived from Sanskrit, it has one and only one sound for each sign. Devanagari has 13 vowels and 33 consonants. The two most popular methods for transliteration from Devanagari to Roman script are IAST and ITRANS. A letter is formed by the combination of zero, one or more consonants and a vowel.
